When it comes to iPhone, shooting games are my favorite game category that I always prefer. Especially games that comes out of movie concept, has a quite branding on it. Expendables is one such game that came after the blockbuster movie Expendables. Expendables is an one person shooting game with a motto of freeing the island of Vilena from the dictatorship of Garza.
Expendables is addictive, if you are a passionate gamer. Particularly the controls are quite easy to navigate. Looking at the game initially gives a lot more expectations on what could be inside the game and for a gamer like me, it was a bit higher.
Gameplay
The first thing that comes in gameplay was the mind blowing background music. The core game concept is to kill Garza dictatorship, however unlike the other action game, you won’t be shooting all the time. Expendables has a very different approach to an action game. The game has many waves (you can call it levels) and all these waves last for a small duration of time. So within that duration, you need to kill the enemies.
The high scores are calculated on the basis of the maximum spend on the game. Since, the game uses OpenFeint, its easy to track your scores online and compete with them.
Graphics
Expendables has decent graphics backed with powerful background music. As I said, the game was little addictive and makes you hyper active to watch for enemies around you.
Controls
Controls are pretty simple, through navigation are little tricky initially. The game has three controls to remember for effective gaming experience. The stop button, shooting and the tilt to navigate.
What I loved
- Expendables has an addictive and challenging gameplay.
- Decent graphics backed by excellent background music.
- Simple controls buttons
What needs to be improved
The major flaw with Expendables is – the game doesn’t get saved, if you get a call or any interruption. This is really disappointing for a good game like Expendables. Expect this, the game works perfect.
Finally Expendables scores better after playing around an hour. I didn’t find the game tough, through its challenging to kill the enemies within the time. If you want to try a soft phased action game, go ahead with Expendables to experience it in action.
