New York, New York – THE FINAL WORD, a new app based on the popular 90s insult speaker box, has officially launched into the 21st Century and is available to download on the iTunes and Google Play stores. The adaption came from a handheld device introduced into the market in 1990 as “THE FINAL WORD.” At the press of a button this adult novelty toy delivered pre-recorded randomized profane insults. The 1990 version of THE FINAL WORD could be purchased at a retail price of $16.95 and topped out selling over 2 million units.
“Fall 2015, at a cousin’s birthday party my Aunt brought me a gift,” said Jay Raifman, creator of THE FINAL WORD app. “It was the 1990 version of the FINAL WORD device and it was still in perfect working condition which made me nostalgic.”
25 years later (November 2015) the Original Trademark was acquired by The Final Word, LLC through the United States Patent & Trademark Office, and less than a year later, THE FINAL WORD can be accessed with its own mobile app.
In the 1990s the FINAL WORD device sold millions of units. Now, a quarter of a century later marks the beginning of THE FINAL WORD app which uses today’s technology and convenience for purchase on the iPhone, iWatch and Android. “THE FINAL WORD projects a multiple of sales through downloads producing a multiple of laughs,” said Raifman.
The vintage “curse box” appealed to those who liked the sound of dirty words, but were reluctant to say them, according to an article released in 1990. The insult toy was to be used in locker rooms, saloons, elevators, board rooms and stockbroker’s offices.
